Do you have or could recommend a video on removing the rear wheel on a shaft driven bike? I have an 85 Yamaha Maxim 700 & can’t seem to find any service manuals for it. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for posting this video Jay. It, too gave me enough confidence to take off my skirt and remove my own wheel. I now feel I have a much closer relationship with my bike now.

@mattpone
removing the caliper(s) will help you tremendously on the re-installation of the wheel, and afford you opportunity to inspect brakes.
on the take off..the caliper is of no issue. when you’re trying to reinstall the wheel is where it becomes an obstacle. removing the caliper allows the re installation of the wheels (axle) to go easy and then you can easily maneuver the caliper back on over the rotor. it’s 2 simple bolts that will make the whole process so much smoother for a novice.

@MrMaclad Thanks for the tip, I’ve heard of that, but was always too scared to try, thinking it might scratch the chrome. Maybe not? I’ll give it a try next time.

@Typhlosion100 it sounds weird but apparantly an old trick for rust spots on chrome wheels and bumbers and so in is alluminium foil, roll some into a ball and start scrubbing…..never tried it myself but might be worth a go but be carefull just in case
August 24th, 2011 at 9:19 pm
@wbwvids well I found a good combo till i get some actual chrome cleaner, its car polish 2001 and window cleaner its working very slowely
August 24th, 2011 at 10:06 pm
@Typhlosion100 I’d try the Noxon then on a small inconspicuous spot to see how it works. There’s no black and white answer on this stuff — some polishes work better with some finished surfaces, you sort of have to do a trial and error sometimes to see what might work best.

@wbwvids its actual chrome and its not bubbling its like water that dried up on it i tried car polish but it didnt really work
August 24th, 2011 at 11:01 pm
@Typhlosion100 It’s not easy to remove the little rust specks that form on chrome, especially if they are bubbling up from the base metal. Interior chrome may be plastic underneath, so I’d be careful. I’d probably try some Wenol or other chrome polish that is less abrasive and less aggressive. Try it on a small spot first to see how it works.

@wbwvids I have some interior chrome that needs to be cleaned cause it gots little rust looking spots and an air cleaner that also has rust looking spots will this clean it good or what would you recommend?
August 25th, 2011 at 12:18 am
@fofofoofong7 if it’s chrome plated, it should work the same way and I’ve used it on chrome trim. But like always, check it in a small inconspicuous area first and don’t let it get on the paint as the abrasives in the chrome cleaner may scratch.
August 25th, 2011 at 1:04 am
hey great vid man. just curious, does this stuff work on molding trim found on muscle cars?
August 25th, 2011 at 1:47 am
@chrisstock93 Very light surface rust, if there’s any real rust, you’re going to need more than a polish.
August 25th, 2011 at 1:59 am
does it remove surface rust or just dirt?
August 25th, 2011 at 2:44 am
@jnunez0011 Thanks very much!

@626brownpride We have reviews of several S100 products on webBikeWorld along with the retail sources, go to the site then search for “S100″.
August 25th, 2011 at 3:52 am

August 25th, 2011 at 4:26 am
@yyGODyy they found out it cuases cancer just from the fumes when not shaken or if the chemical drys out..there is the same chemical compound as in r 11 with out the chlorine ..so painters dust mask and gloves..but an awesome chemical all the way!!!
August 25th, 2011 at 5:20 am
@wbwvids thanks
August 25th, 2011 at 5:43 am
@SuperrJoel I think it should work, but aluminum is soft, so be careful because even certain types of rags can scratch it.
August 25th, 2011 at 6:13 am
I have aluminum rims. will the s100 work for aluminum as well? i have really bad brake dust on my 300zx wheels.
